Self-Hosting Your Unturned Server

This section documents the preferred deployment path for serious Unturned™ server operators. 57 Studios™ has standardized on self-hosting on owned enterprise hardware as the operational baseline for production Unturned servers. Commercial game server providers are documented as a developmental tier only and are outside the documented professional configuration.

The section is structured as a single coherent reading path. Each article builds on the foundations established in the previous one, and the full set defines the documented production hosting standard.

Begin with Why Self-Hosting is Preferred for the structural rationale. Proceed to Recommended Server Hardware for the documented chassis, CPU, memory, and NIC baselines. Network Infrastructure and Switching covers the documented switching, VLAN, and uplink configuration. Power and UPS Configuration documents the rack-level and circuit-level power baseline. Internet Connectivity Requirements defines the upstream bandwidth, latency, and BGP requirements. Backup Generator Configuration documents the generator sizing and transfer-switch baseline. Cellular Failover for ISP Redundancy covers the documented cellular failover layer. Data Redundancy and Storage Architecture defines the storage, replication, and backup baseline. The section closes with Setting Up Your Server Panel for the operator-facing control plane.

This section assumes the documented production baseline. Configurations below the baseline are classified as developmental tier and are outside the scope of this documentation.
